Recently in Japan, the family restaurants that have introduced the Point Of Sale (POS)systems as part of their business operations have increased.With the introdection of this system, the ordering and accounting processes became smoother.However, as for the work of the user who manipulating the POS's radio handy terminal, it makes more time than the traditional handwriting note. Accordingly, this work proposes a POS handy-terminal device's design, anew.In this order, analysis of the busines operetions was carried out.This was done on the basis of the user's efficiency.As result of this, hardware-related aspects, as well as software-related aspects were explored. On this basis, a design that improves the manipulation of the device was devised. Detail aspects of the useroriented interface were set as goal for further development.
