A new architecture to develop a remote video duplication system for high-quility digital VCR is proposed. The proposed system can work on any best-effort type networks to transmit AV signals with no or very little compression noise in semi-real-time operation. The system is featured by an intelligent transmission control mechanism. System operation focused on the buffer transition is also analyzed in this paper.
