The computer program NEC2 for the analysis of wire antennas, developed by G.J.Burke et al., is investigated. In this program, the electric field integral equation (EFIE) is solved with the current expansion functions of three term sinusoidal functions. The feed point current, the root mean square error of current and the error of electric field on the solid cylindrical dipole antennas with length of 0.1 to 0.35 wavelength are compared with the reference data calculated by EFIE with the current expansion functions satisfying the edge conditions at the antenna ends.
