It is very important for Japanese art librarians to get acquainted with overseas art libraries. This series presents their varying aspects in different countries. The first series is preceded by the discussion on the preparation for the library visit and survey. The author observed the art libraries in Moscow, Prague and Warsaw which he visited on the occasion of the 1991 IFLA Conference and immediately afterwards.
