Abstract
In this paper the development of a multimedia digital content for intellectual resources for the Ocean Research Institute of The University of Tokyo (ORI) is described. The ORI is one of the Japan's Centers of Excellence (COE). It is important that universities and research organizations open their intellectual resources to the public coping with the lifelong education. National Institute of Multimedia Education (NIME) has put these resources into effect through open university, for the development of digitizing techniques for intellectual resources. The realization to recycle existing broadcast materials for application to on-line distance learning courses is one of the characteristics of this media. Effective digitizing techniques for intellectual resources are proposed to ORI.
