It was in the mid-1980s when the usage of NHK TV school broadcasting programmes by schools was at its peak. The 1980s were also the days when the situation around the TV and the ways of programme direction changed drastically. In this paper, I would like to inspect the changes of the situation around the NHK TV school broadcasting science programmes and the effects of those changes to the direction of those programmes.
