The Future of Radio and TV Education in Japan : The Importance of Instructional-Materials Production Within NHK(<Special Issue>New Percepectives for Broadcast Bducation in Japan in terms of its Historical Development)

Abstract

NHK, the Japan Broadcasting Corporation, has been producing educational Programs for over fifty years. Of these fifty years, I have been a producer, director and researcher for twenty-six years. Through my experience at NHK in these various capacities, I have come to certain conclusions about the merits of maintaining this educational system. In this paper I will discuss my subjective views of the merits of maintaining educational materials production within broadcasting stations.
