抄録
The Compact City Concept in Japan is somewhat deferent from it based on USA and Europe. This paper is purposed to make clear the particularity of it based on Tohoku Region in Japan. Especially it has been proposed not only for regeneration of urban areas but also for regeneration of rural areas too. Because the uncontrollable expansion of urban area has been caused basically by farmers' expectation of development in rural areas. And this paper proposes 6 points of view for the way forward to the Compact City.
