ID-POS data is often used for data analysis in retail stores, and it makes be more diverse to analyze additional data on customer in-store movement simultaneously. This study will focus its analysis on the relationship between customer movement and elapsed time within a retail store. After classifying the retail store maps into areas according to the product categories handled, we analyzed the relationship between the timing of entry into an area and the probability of purchasing that product category, as hypothesized in previous research. We show that it is important for several product genres in terms of timing of intrusion and probability of purchase, and for many product genres in terms of staying in the product area.
