Reduction of Artifact of Metallic Implant in Magnetic Resonance Imaging by Combining Paramagnetic and Diamagnetic Materials

In order to reduce the artifact of metallic implants made of
paramagnetic materials in magnetic resonance imaging, a method of
coating the metallic implant with diamagnetic material has been
proposed. In the previous work, we investigated the optimal thickness of the diamagnetic coating by using the magnetic field analysis.
In this presentation, in order to investigate the practicability of different combined structures, the effectiveness of metallic implants coating the diamagnetic material with the paramagnetic material is discussed by using the magnetic field analysis.
