To study the effect of material dimensions on the passive RFID tag performances, the numerical simulations are performed using the CST Microwave Studio, where the folded dipole with an inductive loop tag antenna is used. This tag is employed as remotely read dielectric-property sensors to determine qualities of some construction material products (CMPs). In this paper, a study of the characteristics of a passive RFID tag mounted on the LWC is presented. From the results, it is found that the dimensions of LWC affects the tag antenna characteristics such as input impedance, gain and radiation pattern.
