Dielectric surface charge causes Electro Static Discharge (ESD) in electric power device. ESD deteriorates insulation performance of electric power device. Thus, it is important to investigate surface charge decay on dielectric material. In this work, the dielectric film surface of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) was charged by DC corona discharge in low humidity atmospheric pressure. Afterward, the surface charge decay process on the PET film was investigated. As a result, thickness and polarity effects were revealed from surface charge decay process of PET film.
