Non-coherent transmission scheme which employs Differential Modulation Technique is an interesting technique to transmit signal into an unknown channel. To improve the Differential Modulation technique in MIMO system, the combination of Differential Modulation and Space-Time Coding becomes necessary. Although usually an Orthogonal STBC (Space-Time Block Code) is used as the unitary matrix generator, in this paper we introduce a Differential Unitary Modulation Technique using QO-STBC (Quasi-Orthogonal STBC) as the unitary matrix generator to improve the spectral efficiency.
