Space division multiplexing (SDM) have been widely researched to enhance data transmission capacity. Recently, single dimensional mode is attractive because it enables the modes to be distinguished from each other more easily. A phase control type mode multiplexer/demultiplexer using Rowland circle approach is investigated that can demultiplex single dimensional spatial modes. We show a preliminary examination of the demultiplexing principle in spatial single dimensional modes by adjusting the phase wavefronts.
