This paper proposes an active integrated antenna (AIA) with down-conversion function. The proposed AIA consists of a dual-feed microstrip antenna and an image-rejection mixer. The dual-feed antenna provides two signals with a 90-degree phase difference when it receives a circularly-polarized RF wave. Therefore, the proposed AIA does not require the 90-degree hybrid, which is one of the essential parts of the image-rejection mixer. The image-rejection mixer is designed and numerically examined.
