This paper proposes a control algorithm of monopulse beam tracking antenna (BTA). The BTA system consists of a two-element array antenna, two phase shifters, ΣΔ-signal generator, RF detector, and controller. The controller adaptively adjusts the phase shifters according to the difference of the two received signals to aim the antenna’s beam at the direction of arrival. A BTA emulator and phase controller are designed using microcontrollers. The control algorithm is evaluated by using the emulator, and the performance of the proposed control algorithm is successfully confirmed.
