In this study, we investigated the heavy discharge time to dispel the memory effect of nickel-metal hydride batteries. Nickel-metal hydride batteries were connected to a DC power source and an electronic load and charged and discharged for 10 cycles. The voltage and current values for charging conditions were 9 V and 6.5 A, and those for discharging conditions were 7.65 V and 25 A. Then, the deterioration was examined in terms of the time it took to fully charge the battery for the first cycle. The results showed that the older the year, the longer the charging time.
