Nanoforming was introduced into highly transparent and stable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) elastomers to maintain transparency while reducing the refractive index and imparting optical anisotropy. By leveraging the gas permeability of PDMS, a water emulsion method characterized by a high bulk size was employed. The focus was on achieving the incorporation of submicron-sized porous structures. A quadruple mixed emulsion, comprising toluene and isopropanol as dual solvents alongside water and PDMS, caused submicron-sized porous into PDMS.
