A survey was conducted on the awareness of the fifth graders in Bag Making, concerning difficulty of the work, their interest and self-evaluation.
The results indicate that :
1. In all respects of the work, their awareness of the difficulty and self-evaluation was medium, while their interest was a little higher.
2. Viewed by the kind of the work, they were found to feel more difficulty and less interest in the operation of “Sukui-kaeshi-dome” at “Kuchi-aki-domari, ” while more difficulty and more interest in “Nami-nui.”
3. Concerning the relationship between awareness of the difficulty and the interest in each work, there was a tendency that they feel more interest in the easier work. Concerning the relationship between awareness of the difficulty and self-evaluation, they evaluated that their workmanship was not good in the kind of work which they felt was difficult.
4. This survey seems to show that Bag Making is an adequate instructional material for the fifth graders.
