In September, 1980, we investigated the time-budget in relation to activities of married couples, in which not only the primary but also the secondary and the third activities taking place during the main ones are included.
We analysed time-budget grouping in three types. They are as follows : 1) both husband and wife employed full-time, 2) husband employed full-time with the wife non-employed, 3) husband employed full-time with the wife employed part-time.
The findings are as follows :
1) There are distinct differences between both sexes in each case of the three types.
2) Husbands' productive work time is over eleven hours. Consequently their socially, culturally activated time is short and its contents are poor. On the other hand, time spent by wives employed full-time or part-time is pressured by the double burden of their productive work time and household work time, and their socially, culturally activated time is short and poor also.
