The paper presents two cases of frontal pyocele caused by post-traumatic obstruction of the naso-frontal duct.
Case 1. A twelve-year-old boy, who had suffered from a traffic accident, developed swelling of the frontal region, exophthalmus, motor disturbance of the eyeball and visual disturbance after an asymptomatic period of eight years. Frontal pyocele and obstruction of the naso-frontal duct were treated surgically with subsequent recovery of the eye function.
Case 2. A thirty-three-year-old man, who had total maxillectomy for maxillary sarcoma, developed visual disturbance and exophthalmus after a good postoperative course of fifteen years. No sign of recurrence was found. A surgery revealed frontal pyocele with an obstruction of the naso-frontal duct. Visual function recoverd after the surgery.
