The authors describe their experiences of 60 cases of otorhinolaryngological operations using thiamylalsodium P, which is sold on the market as “Isozol”.
This drug causes practically no excitement stage and is a very safe anesthetic. Especially, Isozol is very convenient for oesophagoscopy and bronchoscopy because of its muscle relaxing effect besides the anesthetic effect.
The anesthetic effect of Isozol lasts only about 30 minutes, and so it can be used on outpatlents, too.
Lastly, it is stated that Isozol is very useful for the operation which dose not involve the fear of blood engorging, for instance, for the curettement of the tympanic cavity in the radical operation of the mid-ear.
