In oder to ascertin which fixationsmethod is best fitted in examining Nissl's statue of auditory nervous cell, I tried and studied with every kind of fixationsliquids which were used for fixation of the temporal bone and reached the following result:
1) Nissl's statue in auditory nervous cell causes a remarkable difference by using different kinds of fixationsliquids and fixationsmethods which were hitherto used.
2) If those fixationsmethod right after decapitation cann be compared with those from the vital fixationsmethod it is found out that those from the former method is rather obscure in outlines of cells and in Nissl's corpuscle, the latter method is superior to the former method.
3) Yoshii, Sieben.mann's liquid and Wittmaack's liquid are the best vital fixation liquid. Beside these, other liquids seem to be remarkably defective, Ort's liquid, 10% formalin, Zenker's liquid, Muller, s liquid and 95 % alcohol are not good respectively.4) Aniang afterfixation liquid, that which containes Kali Bichromat couses a slight contraction of nervous cell, but it makes Nissl's corpuscle remarkably obscure.
5) By treating with 10 % formalin, Alagna' method or with Held's method Nissl's corpuscle is comparatively transparent though there is some contraction in nervous cell.
6) By using 96% alcohol as afterfixation Nissl's corpuscle and cell structure is exceedingly transparent though it gives more or less contraction to cells.
7) Taking out the modiolus and by fixation it for a short time (12-24 hours) wich mixed liquid of 10% formalin and ice acetic acid before treating to fixation it with 96 % alcohol, it shows very slight contraction of nervous cell and at the same time the advantage of clecalcifation.
