In this study, growth of Aurantiochytrium sp. SEK209 was investigated by applying 3.75mA of pulse-current (once in one second) to culture fluid (2% D(+)-glucose, 1% tryptone, 0.5% yeast extract, 25% seawater) at 25℃. 4 electrodes is used copper wire. As a result of measuring absorbance, viable count and biomass weight on control and sample (Electrostimulated culture fluid), absorbance and biomass weight on sample showed higher value than control. But viable count on sample showed lower value than control. Growth of A. sp. SEK209 was inhibited by antibacterial activity of copper ions eluted from copper wire. It is necessary to select harmless electrodes in order to promote growth of A. sp. SEK209.
