Compared to international standards, municipal standards for personal living space often fit the area standard, but not the height standard. Results of the study on influences of the shape of personal living spaces in the evacuation centers showed that the larger the height and area, the higher the evaluation. However, there was no difference in the evaluation of the space with a height of over 1700 mm and an area of over 4 m². In addition, psychological comfort and a sense of security were improved under semi-roofs. The semi-roof changed physiological human stress values between day and night.
