One of the social problems that the consumer living in the information society takes a strong interest in is the privacy problem. In this study, therefore, I show that the right to control self information is regarded as the main content of the right to privacy, and because the definition of personal information is broad, that a phenomenon to seem to overreact to the personal information has occurred. And I point out that the privacy problem concerning the IC tag considered to become a major technology in the ubiquitous network society is classified into three, emphasize that it is necessary to have the ability that the consumer can judge by oneself to solve those problems, that is, the consumer education is necessary. Furthermore, I clarify the case examples, the characteristic of the system and notes concerning privacy problem with each type proposed by ITO (2008) as the concrete content of consumer education.
