Abstract

The case report of institutional research (IR), which has been carrying out by IR committee organized in the faculty of pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy, Fukuyama University, was introduced. This report was based on the results of the project that had been searching valuable information for passing the national examination for pharmacists and/or school-leaving examination of the faculty students and assembling students of 1st grade having troublesome factors for studying at the faculty.

These results supported several rules of thumb of seasoned professors, but counteracted assumptions of theirs, partly.

We reaffirmed the significance of IR through this project. At the same time, we also realized that originality and ingenuity were necessary for making a suggestion that was critical for designing a strategy of the faculty.

This work was contributed by the IR committee members of the faculty. Members were Eijiro Kojima, Takashi Ishidu, Jun Kamishikiryo and Yukihisa Matsuda.
