The Model Core Curriculum of Pharmaceutical Education—2013 version—incorporates “outcome-based education,” which emphasizes educational outcomes. Meanwhile, the third-party evaluation of pharmaceutical education, which began in 2013, will start its second cycle in 2020. Considering this evaluation, evaluation standards for the second cycle were revised based on the final report of the high school-university connection system reform meeting and discussion of high school education quality assurance, such as “Guidelines on the Establishment and Operation of the diploma policy, curriculum policy, and admission policy.” In the draft evaluation standards, we have emphasized the preparation and operation of the three policies, curricula and educational outcomes, and internal quality assurance and the plan–do–check–act (PDCA) cycle. In addition, the revisions have been reduced and clarified, based on the results of the first-cycle evaluation, organizing them into 8 items, 19 criteria, and 53 viewpoints. Herein, we report the outline.
