A practical training program was offered to students at Teikyo Heisei University to help them improve their attitudes as pharmacists and valuable members of society and develop patient-centered perspectives. The program was structured around participatory learning techniques such as group work, small group discussions, and presentations. However, the impact of the spread of COVID-19 in February 2020 and beyond forced the faculty members in charge to devise new ways of replacing participatory learning, which is the core learning method employed by program. This is a practical report on the online classes for participatory learning before and after the practical training program at Teikyo Heisei University. This report stresses the importance of considering the time schedule and sharing knowledge and experience among the faculty members in charge.
