Abstract

“F. Clinical Pharmacy” of the Model Core Curriculum for Pharmacy Education 2022 version presents learning objectives for individual optimization of drug treatment practiced by pharmacists. Three phases were presented to advance the learning. In Phase 1, students are required to receive sufficient preparatory education to be able to smoothly take care of patients and consumers through practical training at university. In Phase 3, students are required to reflect on their training experience and deepen their learning in clinical pharmacy after the training ends. The practical training in Phase 2 is an important learning opportunity for “F. Clinical Pharmacy,” and its enrichment is an important matter related to the future development of pharmacists.

Pharmacist education must aim to improve the ability to discover and solve problems in order to respond to the rapidly changing needs of society. I will discuss what kind of learning should be done to achieve this, along with the new model core curriculum.
