We report a case of appendiceal goblet-cell carcinoid with malignant cells in ascites. A woman in her 30s having appendiceal goblet-cell carcinoid was found to have atypical cells in ascites cytology. Tumor cells had a high N/C ratio and eosinophilic cytoplasm. Signet-ring-cell-like cells with abundant cytoplasmic mucin were also seen. Immunohistochemically, tumor cells in ascites were positive for synaptophisin and chromogranin A.
