This report uses longitudinal style life story interview analysis to capture the quality of learners' experiences. In order to make study abroad life meaningful for learners, achieving goals such as Japanese language acquisition, self-growth and self-fulfillment are important. For example, if all goes well, life abroad will be a rich experience that leads to a fulfilling future career. Whether learners get to "learn through various experiences" or not is a crucial issue.
