This paper attempts to explore the issues related to the translation of specialized nursing care terminology from the perspective of a Japanese language teacher. It highlights that the translation of specialized terms should be seen as a part of intercultural communication. In particular, it points out the unique difficulties arising from the differences in grammatical structures and modes of expression between Japanese and Chinese. It discusses how Japanese language teachers need to go beyond their role as mere linguistic mediators, acting as bridges between different cultures. This paper provides suggestions for Japanese language education in nursing care in the era of machine translation.
