Generally we often use the prevention works such as loading embankment works against landslides due to cutting slopes in order to construct the roads. However the loading embankment works can not be adopted, on condition that there is not a wide space in front of the slope.
By the way, in China there are many actual results of anti-slide retaining walls against landslides. But in Japan the design method of the anti-slide retaining walls is not established, because we seldom adopt this wall except for prevention of collapses at the toe of landslides.
In order to establish the design method of anti-slide retaining walls, we have to study how to obtain the external force on the design, design the style and scale of the walls, and construct it. In this paper, the authors studied the design of style and scale of the walls, and clarified this feature.
