To overcome the institutionally formalized method of improving a living environment, it is significant to creat the values of residents lives and to raise their affection and sensitivity toward their own close-at-home environment. From such a point of view, the residents' spontaneous, informal activities directly connected with the living environment are to be appreciated, because they inhere their motivation to improve it. Community orienteering is a novel, effective method with such characteristics as the escalation and enjoyable process of environmental perception, share of information among attendants and adhochism.
