This study examines the relation between high trees and the residents' perception of existing greenery in their community, From these results､new methods of landscape planting can be investigated for future residential area. The results are as follows;1)1,496 high trees were found in study area in Fuchu city of which 602 were Zelkova serrata.2)Many high trees were planted per unit area, and although the overall percentage of green cover was below 30%,many of the residents were satisfied with the amount of existing greenery. 3)The residents express intrest in not only preservation and maintenance, but in increasing the greenery by planting more high trees.
