THE ROAD NETWORK CAPACITY IS DEFINED AS THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF VEHICLE TRIPS WHICH CAN BE LOADED ON THE ROAD NETWORK UNDER THE RESTRICTIONS OF FIXED TRAVEL DEMAND PATTRN AND THE LINK CAPACITY. IN THIS PAPER, WE DISCUSS THE INTERRELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN ROAD NETWORK AND LAND USE CONSIDERING THE ROAD NETWORK CAPACITY. THE INCREMENTAL ASSIGNMENT SIMULATION TECHNIQUE WAS APPLIED, IN WHICH SMALL AMOUNTS OF VEHICLE TRIPS ARE GRADUALLY LOADED TO THE NETWORK UNTIL TRAFFIC VOLUME REACHES ITS CAPACITY. ESTIMATION OF ROAD NETWORK CAPACITY IS INVESTIGATED AT THREE DIFFERENT ROAD NETWORK STRUCTURES AND SIX DIFFERENT LAND USE PATTERNS.
