This paper aims to clarify the characteristics of application ways of traditional crafts for tourists promotion. Based on study frameworks and questionnaire survey to cities and towns of crafts production, the analysis was conducted. Findings are as follows. 1) Twelve application ways of traditional crafts for tourist promotion are extracted and are classified into four phases, of which visual ways in first and second phase are mainly applied. 2) Characteristics of application ways by craft types are clarified and some of the unique examples are identified. 3) Through the quantitative analysis I, notability of craft is suggested to become high by the chances of experience to use crafts actually, and/or looking them closely.
