The purpose of this study is to clarify the effect of physical articulation (visual distance) on the walking monotonous sensation. Object space of this paper is minor street in the detatched house districts. The method is a field experiment. Visual distance and roadside environment are different on 25 experimental places. 80 examinees reported existence of the monotonous sensation and impression of the object space by walking the experimental places. We arrive at the conclusion of the following. (1) It clarified a scene factor which affects the monotonous sensation at 50m~100m visual distance. (2) This scene factor divided the road space into three scene types. It clarified the correlation between visual distance and monotonous sensation by examining the scene type. (3) It clarified "limitative visual distance which does not sense the monotonous sensation" of the each scene type. (4) It presented the approach of the space operation for alleviating the monotonous sensation at 50~100m visual distance.
