Abstract
The central of Jyohana in Nanto city are famous for the traditional festival. From 1997, the national road No.304 that run through the area had the road widening construction. Then the new rows-of-houses appeared along the road. This study aimed to verify the direction of the design of appearance of house that the guideline expressed by sentences and how the owner of the building had recognized the guideline. And also it clarifies the relation between the difference of the recognition to the guideline and the difference of the concern to construction of the owner in the building. As a result, the designs of past buildings were used as a common image and they put it up for their new buildings.
