Abstract
An occurrence of future great earthquake in the Tokyo metropolitan area is concerned. Recently, the Japanese Cabinet Office had much discussion about damage assessment, disaster prevention strategy, and evacuation countermeasures for the earthquake but less so about a housing reconstruction problem. For considering the housing reconstruction problem, we developed a social simulation for housing reconstruction using earthquake damage assessment. In addition, because the amount of supply is not clear, this paper examines relations of the supply amount and simulation results. Several observations from simulation results have shown an importance of rental housing in housing reconstruction problem following the Tokyo metropolitan earthquake.
