Ine-ura was used as a filming location for a TV drama broadcast in 1993, and in 2005, “Funaya” (boathouse) village of Ine-ura was selected as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings . In addition, inbound tourism has increased the number of tourists. In response, some “Funayas” have been converted into restaurants and lodging businesses. However, most of them are newly opened by U- and I-turners. However, the number of such “Funaya” renovations varies from district to district. Some men who moved to Ine-ura are employed as marine sightseeing boats and cabs. He has no fishing rights, so he cannot work in the fishing industry. In recent years, guided tours by local residents have been very popular. However, without fishing right basket net fishing cannot be conducted, so the guides are limited to women of fishing families. Tour courses are also determined by the existence of traditional boathouses and the relationship with the fishermen who live there.
