This paper evaluates a position of SOC (State of Charge) that indicates battery energy remaining along with a real world downhill drive to its simulation on an emission chassis dynamometer with a gradient road load. The real world data is measured by GPS (Global Positioning System) and fluctuates widely. A method of spline interpolation smoothes the data for a chassis simulation test. It was found that the SOC in the chassis simulation matches the SOC in a real world test. This chassis substitution method could be applied widely for simulation on a chassis dynamometer.
