A STUDY ON THE PLANNING PROCESS AND UTILIZATION CHARACTERISTICS IN URBAN BEACHFRONT —FOCUSING ON THE “OMORI-FURUSATONO-HAMABEKOEN BEACH PARK” CREATED BY OTA-KU FOR THE FIRST TIME IN TOKYO—

Abstract

 The purpose of this study is to clarify the main points of the planning process and the utilization characteristic of urban artificial beach park as case of “Omori-Furusatono-Hamabekoen beach park” in Otaku, Tokyo. The research methods of this study used the interview survey with administrative (Ota-ku), the literature survey on the beach park and the field survey. As a result, this study clarified below; (1) main points of beach construction process between planning term and after opening term of this park, (2) five usage characteristics of “Local community space”, “Diversity of activities”, “Proximity to city area”, “Accessibility between land and ocean” and “Base spot of beach activity”.
