Due to the diversification of "digital archive", there is a possibility that non-expert citizens who used to be on the user side will tackle archiving positively. In this paper, we describe the characteristics of "multi-dimensional digital archives" such as Hiroshima Archive, and also their organic production environment as a new approach to citizen participation in digital archiving. We discuss the impact of digital archives on the society from the practices, and propose "participatory digital archives" as a new research area of digital archive.
