We have been developing a system that automatically measures various electrical parameters of a PV string, diagnoses abnormalities, and notifies the user remotely. We report on field tests of two methods for detecting degradation of insulation performance: one is to measure insulation resistance at the nighttime, and the other is to detect leakage currents during the daytime.
