The clinical features in 6 cases of prosthetic valve replacement during past 3 years are reviewed. Among them, one case died with hemorrhage and low cardiac output, one case died on the 53 rd post- operative day, another 4 cases are excellent and they are now received anticoagulant medicals.
Since 1965, 64 patients with cardiac valve disease recieved operation, of whom 48 had closed mitral commissurotomy, 4 had open mitral commissurotomy, 5 had mitral prosthetic valve replacement, 4 was inserted with aortic ball valve and 3 patients with Ebstein's malformation was replaced prosthetic heart valve in the tricuspid position.
And recent tendency of prosthetic valve replacement are discussed. Prosthetic valve replacement is the best treatment for the patients who have resistance to medical treatment.
