This paper develops the numerical model of a curtain-cable in the case of considering both bending stiffness and axial stiffness, friction force between rail and carrier by using finite segment formulation and deals with numerical simulations of dynamic behavior of the curtain-cable subjected to impact loads. The curtain-cable is stretched by an external step load, and internal force generated at the girder end is examined. As a result, it is found that the internal force generated at the girder end increases with increasing the axial stiffness and decreases with increasing coefficient of friction between rail and carrier.
