An optimum design method of a dynamic vibration absorber using dissipation energy and imaginary part of dynamic stiffness of the absorber is proposed. For the case parameters of the main system fluctuate in wide range and exciting frequency varies in small range, very simple expressions to calculate optimum frequency ratio and damping ratio of the dynamic vibration absorber have been derived by using imaginary part of dynamic stiffness of dynamic vibration absorber. It can be seen that optimum frequency ration is 1 and optimum damping ration is expressed by function of frequencyrange of the exciting force. Numerical simulation is carried out and calculation results show usefulness of the proposed method.
