When the upper end of a point-mass pendulum that is inclined from vertical is moved up and down, the point mass is conveyed forward. This up-and-down motion can be regarded as the fundamental casting motion for conveyance of an object. This paper treats the casting system consisting of a rigid rod and a point-mass pendulum. The rod can rotate arbitrary around a fixed point by an actuator, and the pendulum is attached to the tip of the rod. Relationship between the rod motion and the conveyance condition of the mass is investigated numerically using the shooting method.
